The Web-based CME arena has expanded from 13 Web sites offering courses in April 1997 to about 250 sites offering more than 11,000 courses totaling 20,000 credit hours as of July 2003, according to Bernard Sklar, MD, MS, a consultant who for six years has tracked data on courses approved by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
