The contracts for two blocks - one onshore and one offshore - were signed by A. N. Sinha, the managing director of India-based Essar Oil Limited, and U San Lwin, the managing director of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), according to a statement released by Essar on May 9.

The adjoining offshore (A2) and onshore (L) blocks are located along the coast of Rakhine State, south of Bangladesh.
