Mr. Simpson is co-founder of the Firm and serves as the Firm's CEO, and Director of the Succession Planning Group.He is responsible for the Firm's practice relating to professional service providers.He is a past president of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and a former member of the Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration.Mr. Simpson is also the Firm's retirement plan and compensation specialist.
Education and Professional Qualifications
Mr. Simpson received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with a major in Accounting) from Miami University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University.He is a founding shareholder in the CPA firm of Simpson & Osborne, CPAs, A.C., has been a CPA since 1969, and holds the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation.
Professional Organizations
Mr. Simpson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (past member of Council), West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (Past President and recipient of its Distinguished Service Award), and the Charleston Chapter of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (Past President).
Other Organizations
Mr. Simpson currently serves as a Trustee of Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc. and is a member of the Board of the Charleston Area Medical Center Health System, Inc.He has served as President and as a Board Member of the Rotary Club of Charleston.He was also recognized by the Club as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Other Information
Mr. Simpson has served as a discussion leader at numerous continuing professional education seminars.He has been an instructor at West Virginia State College, and has frequently spoken to community and civic organizations on a variety of tax, financial, and management topics.
Mr. Simpson is responsible for services to professional service firms at Simpson & Osborne and also serves clients in a variety of other businesses.He is the Firm's specialist in compensation issues and in succession planning.
Mr. Simpson was recognized by the The State Journal as a recipient of a "Who's Who in West Virginia" award in 1997.
