Debbie started dance training in 1963.She entered gymnastics in 1970 at the National School of Gymnastics under the direction of Jeanette Jay.Debbie competed for Jeanette until 1972.

After Mrs. Diebel retired, Debbie took over the recreational program at her high school as well as teaching part-time at the National School of Gymnastics.

Debbie is PDPI Certified, PDPII Certified, Safety Certified, First-Aid Certified, CPR Certified, KAT certified and is MELPD certified.She is also a USAG Skill Evaluator.She is a PDPI Certifier for the USAG.She is a member of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware State Chamber.Debbie is also Treasurer for Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity.In 1996, Debbie traveled to Moscow Russia with a group of her students to study with the Russian Coaches for 9 days.She has 2 sons, Chris born in 1989 and David born in 1992.
