Star chefs, local restaurants and boutique wineries are teaming up to make the weekend's Southern Breeze Wine and Culinary Festival presented by DCS by Fisher & Paykel (a high-end kitchen appliance line) an eating and sipping success, according to Stacy B. Simon, director of projects for the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"This will be the first time that the Southern Breeze Wine and Culinary Festival has come to Baton Rouge," Simon said, "and the whole Baton Rouge hospitality industry is working overtime to make the festival's debut in Baton Rouge the premier food and wine event of the summer."

Stacy Simon, project co-ordinator for the Baton Rouge CVB, helped organize the program for the region, which includes Tangipahoa, Livingston, Ascension, River Parishes, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, West Feliciana and East and West Baton Rouge parishes.

"This is such an opportunity," said Simon."And the amount of work the state has put into this is very impressive."

She is equally impressed with the attention to detail and safety required by Disney."People (travelers) have expectations for Disney and they (Disney) made sure we are being up to these expectations.It's been great," said Simon.

The delegations' trip on November 3 and 4 also included Paul Arrigo, Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau President/CEO and Director of Projects Stacy Simon; and Chris Stelly of the Governor's Office of Film & Television Development.
