Mr. Simon received his B.A. in Anthropology, with honors, in 1994, from the University of California, Los Angeles and his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1999.Mr. Simon also holds a M.A. in Urban Planning, with an emphasis on economic analysis and development.He is admitted to practice in California.

Mr. Simon's practice focuses on representation of start-up and established biotechnology, Internet infrastructure, software, telecommunications, and wireless companies in corporate, securities, and intellectual property transactions, including entity formation and strategy; corporate finance; mergers and acquisitions; private equity, IPO, and follow-on offering opinions; technology transfer, including: license (patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright), research and development, collaboration, supply, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and distribution agreements; joint ventures, corporate partnerships, and strategic alliances; sponsored research, material transfer, and contract research agreements, and leases of scientific equipment; corporate governance; and employment, confidentiality, non-disclosure, invention assignment, non-compete, consulting, and advisory board agreements and formation and maintenance of stock option and other benefit plans.
