Jared Simon Receives $5000 Badger Mining Scholarship

Badger Mining Corporation is pleased to announce Jared Simon of Laconia High School as the recipient of their annual $5000 scholarship.The scholarship was presented to Jared on May 9, 2001 by Mark Hess, member of Badger Mining's Fairwater & St. Marie Operations Team, during award ceremonies at Laconia High School.

Each year, Badger Mining offers three $5,000 scholarships for students pursuing studies in Engineering and/or Environmental Science.One scholarship is awarded in each of the areas in which Badger has production facilities.Area "A" includes Rosendale-Brandon, Markesan, and Ripon School Districts.Area "B" includes the Berlin, Green Lake, and Princeton School Districts.Area "C" includes Blair-Taylor and Black River Falls School Districts.The scholarships are awarded to students intending to pursue a degree in Mining Engineering, other Engineering curriculums or Environmental Science with priority assigned to that sequence respectively.

Jared is the son of William and Ardell Simon, Eldorado and is entering into Civil Engineering at University of Wisconsin - Platteville.

Badger Mining wishes Jared and the rest of the 2001 graduating class good luck in their future endeavors.
