William Monty Simmons was born in Lenoir, North Carolina and admitted to the South Carolina bar in 1998.Mr. Simmons has an Associate in Applied Science degree in Biomedical Electronics from Caldwell Community College (A.A.S., 1982) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University (B.S., 1988).He received his law degree from the University of Miami (J.D., 1998), where he was a member of the Inter-American Law Review.Before joining Dority & Manning in 2000, Mr. Simmons enjoyed an extensive career as an electrical engineer working for IBM (1983-1988), NCR (1988-1992), AT&T GIS (1992-1994) and Compliance Test Laboratories (1997-2000).While working for AT&T, Mr. Simmons received the AT&T Technology Authors Publishing Award (Certificate for Distinguished Technical Achievement) for authoring a paper on Semi-Anechoic Chambers that was published in ITEM.
