Chad Simmons

Chad Simmons is a recent Troy State University graduate.He began pursuing a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1997 and began work at the university's television station in 1999.Chad learned thebasics of television during the station's two live daily newscasts.Chad explored many sides of the television news business.He began reporting , writing , editing and shooting news stories.After reporting , Chad was given achance to anchor TSU News at Noon and TSU Nightly News.Chad was later named TSU Sports Director in 2000.While covering Trojan sports , Chad was named TSU Hall School of Journalism Best Sports Anchor and also picked up an award from SEJC for a sports story.Chad later began anchoring weather , a move that led to his first job with WNCF.While at TSU , Chad served on the local chapter of theNational Broadcasting Society for two years , one as Communications Officer andanother as President.Chad has served in the TSU Chapter of the National Broadcasters Society for two years.One year as a communications officer andone as President.Chad began his career at WNCF in January 2001 as a weekend weathercaster.Chad quickly became a reporter and photographer and can be seen reporting each night on the News at 5 : 00 and 5 : 30.Chad thanks his parents for their encouragement and his wife , Brandy for her compromises and support.

Chad Simmons joins WNCF from Troy State University.He began pursuing a degree in broadcast journalism in 1997 and began work at the university. s television station in the summer on 1999.Chad learned the basics of television TSU-TV doing production work for the station. s 2 daily live newscast.Chad began reporting shortly thereafter and got his first short at anchoring a few months after his start with the station.Chad then began to explore other aspects of the TV news business.He was named sports director for TSU-TV in 2000 and also began anchoring weather.Chad has served in the TSU Chapter of the National Broadcasters Society for two years.One year as a communications officer and one as President.Chad was named TSU Hall School of Journalism Best Sports Anchor for the 1999-2000 school year.It was Chad's love of weather that convinced him to come to WNCF where he is now the weekend Meteorologist and he occasionally fills in for Chief Meteorologist Dan Atkinson.Chad thanks his parents for never letting him feel discouraged by obstacles , and the staff of Troy State Television for allowing him to explore many aspects of television and finally concentrate on weather forecasting.
