Art earned his Private Pilot Certificate in 1956, a Commercial Certificate came a few years later and flight instructor in 1993.He has an impressive 2,000 hours total time with 1,000 hours of dual instruction given, along with 50-plus years of flying experience.His students have benefited from his knowledge and unique style of instruction.Mr. Simmonds has time in eight models of Cessna aircraft, over four models of Piper aircraft, and has most recently added a light sport aircraft Instruction certificate to his resume.He is qualified in high performance as well as tail wheel aircraft.

Art holds a B.S. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Wichita University and a diploma in Aircraft Design Technology from the Academy of Aeronautics.He also is a qualified technician and has an Airframe and Power Plant license.Mr. Simmonds was employed in the research department at Cessna in Wichita, Kansas, then later
