    ...
Ted Simendinger, author of Critters, Fish & Other Troublemakers, was born in Philadelphia to a regular American post-war family, and proceeded through his own life in an average or slightly above average because he is a competitive guy American manner. Ted's turning point came one day years ago when he heard a well-regarded baseball player attribute his season's success to a decision to become an impact player, not a role player. On that day, Ted Simendinger made a new commitment to excellence, and a decision to build equity in himself on an on-going basis. Thereafter, Ted enjoyed an extremely successful and accelerating career with Xerox Corporation, scaling the corporate ranks from local Account Representative to Business Development Manager for the Western Region of the U.S. Along the way, Ted spent a few years devoting his leisure time to writing and performing his own stand-up comedy act which was quite successful. Ted decided to stay in corporate America rather than pursue comedy as a career because, he said, bad things happen late at night. Ted also founded the No Bats Baseball Club, whose focuses are the international promotion of the game of baseball, the promotion of global friendships and the active support of baseball-related charities. Ted recently retired from corporate America to pursue his comedy and non-fiction writing, and his speaking career while he is still young.

In Critters, Fish & Other Troublemakers, Ted gives credit where credit is due, stating that the seeds for this monumental goal achieving and problem solving strategy came to him from a 5 year old, while they combed the beach together, looking for shark teeth. When they were done, and he asked her how she had found fistfuls of large shark teeth, in comparison to his own few small ones, she replied "That's what I was looking for."Ted implores us all.

"Coming to Round Rock to support this particular cause has been a dream of mine for several years now," said No Bats Founder & Chairman Ted Simendinger. "The greatness of the game is its lasting legacy from generation through generation; and in the proud No Bats tradition of raising awareness and money for needy baseball-related charities, we can support no finer cause than the legends of the Negro Leagues, and no better organization to partner with than the Round Rock Express."

This year NBBC is going to Aberdeen, Maryland in support of the newly founded Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. The Ripken family's newly-formed foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to help kids build character and leadership skills though baseball.

NBBC has created "Campaign $26.32" to reach their goals this year.

"The first thing we're trying to do is pay back Cal Ripken and his family for all they have done for baseball," said No Bats Founder and Chairman Ted Simendinger. "We want as many people as possible – from as many parts of America possible – to participate," he added. "Our dream is to hand over a stack of checks from the floor to the ceiling at our meeting in October and simply say, "Here, Cal. All these folks say thanks."

Checks should be made payable directly to the "Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation." NBBC has asked that all Express fans send their checks to the Express offices so that they may be sent in one large group to the NBBC offices. Checks should be sent to: Express Community Relations, P.O. Box 5309, Round Rock, Texas, 78683.
