Mangia has started pitching it as a more environmentally friendly way of advertising; although foam cups are cheaper than paper ones, coffee shops, beverage carts and delis can subsidize the cost of paper cups through ads, Shulman said.

The firm hasn't lined up any advertisers yet, but the goal is to sign up the first by the end of next quarter, Shulman said.Meanwhile, the agency continues to offer its other signature product: pizza box advertising, for which it just had a campaign for AT&T.Other clients have included Warner Bros., the Showtime cable channel and Sony Pictures.
"To the extent that we can do something to serve the client and have a positive impact on the environment, that will always be our option," Shulman said."That will always be our preference."
