Dr. S. Chandrashekhar Shetty

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr S. Chandrashekar Shetty, Vice Chancellor of Sri Devraj Urs University, Kolar.

The mission statement which was unveiled by Dr. S. Chandrashekhara Shetty, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, in the presence of a host of other dignitaries reads, "Excellence in Pharmaceutical Education and Research -Marching with the Times".The field of pharmaceutical education and research is undergoing rapid changes as a result of scientific and technological advances.Keeping pace with these frantic changes is a tough task.It is in this light that the mission statement assumes relevance.To go hand in hand with the mission statement of COPS, two new facilities have been added to boost research activities -the spectroscopy and chromatography laboratories.Dr. Shetty inaugurated both these laboratories.

The Valedictory function to mark the end of the year-long Dr. TMA Pai birth centenary celebrations was held.Dr. S. Chandrashekhara Shetty was the Chief Guest.

In his address, Dr. Shetty said that despite progress in the field of medical education, the benefits have not reached the needy, especially in the villages.He stressed the need for the development of the complementary (alternative) medicines to provide health care to all.

Dr. S. Chandrashekhar Shetty, Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore released the clinical pharmacy bulletin published by Pharmacy Practice Dept. of JSS College of Pharmacy. Dr. Shetty said that the knowledge imparted to the learners and trainees should be relevant and specific. He cautioned the practicing pharmacists against irrational combination and polypharmacy.

The NAAC certificate was handed over to Principal of the College Dr. R. Y. Nadaf on November 25 by Dr. S. Chandrashekhar Shetty, Vice chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

The A.M.Shaikh Medical College has already received the ISO-9002 from the TUV, Germany.

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. S. Chandrashekar Shetty, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RHUHS), Karnataka, Bangalore and the President of Association of Surgeons of India, Dr. K.S. Shekar presided.
