When the court asked the accused to sign on the plea stating whether they plead guilty or not, defence lawyer Prakash Shetty said that he wanted to talk to the accused and clear some misunderstanding between them.

Defence lawyer Prakash Shetty said, "The MCOCA court observed that key witnesses Iqbal Rizvi and Moinuddin tried suppressing facts from the court.

Defence lawyer Prakash Shetty said: "We (the defence lawyers in the case) have withdrawn our appearance."

The court also rejected Tarannums bail plea and Tarannums lawyer, Prakash Shetty, addressed then the Bombay High Court. When she found out they were going to reject the bail plea too, she withdrew the application.

Meanwhile, though Tarannum's lawyer Prakash Shetty told Newsline that the court had given permission to provide her with homemade food, the Nagpada police denied this.

‘‘The Crime Branch, without any material proof, has invoked Section 420 on my client," said Prakash Shetty, defence counsel for Tarannum.Shetty said that there was no need for custodial interrogation as the police had already questioned and recorded Tarannum's statements in the last 15 days.

Tarannum's lawyer Prakash Shetty said he was withdrawing the bail application.
