Katherine Sheppard, the daughter of the late H. Berkley and Jewel Turner Talkington, was born in Russellville, Ark., on Sept. 14, 1926, and died at her daughter's home in Hernando, Miss., on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Sheppard grew up in Risco and graduated from high school there.She moved to St. Louis and lived a short time in California before moving to Mississippi 30 years ago.She graduated college in St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in accounting and was retired from Gates Lumber Company where she worked as an accountant and credit manager.She was a member of the Hernando Baptist Church in Hernando, Miss.
