"It's hard to plan to do anything if you don't work together," said Commissioner Jay Dee Shepherd.

Commissioners Allan Bryson, Jay Dee Shepherd and Bob Simpson voted in favor of it.

Macon County Commissioner Jay Dee Shepherd led the invocation. Greene welcomed official guests, including Representative Phil Haire, a representative from Senator Elizabeth Dole’s office, Macon County Commissioners Charlie Leatherman and Shepherd, Sylva mayor Brenda Allman, and local author Eva McCall and artist Michael Rogers.
