Lawrence graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1976 with a bachelor ‘s degree in applied sciences.He married Carmyn Hansen on Nov. 16 , 1957 , in Duluth.Lawrence was co-owner of the General Appliance Repair Company in Duluth.He had been an instructor at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior for 25 years , retiring in 1993.Lawrence enjoyed amateur radio , electronics and fishing.He was a member of the Arrowhead Radio Amateur Club WAØAFO ; the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians ; and was a member and past president of the Twin Ports Dog Training Club.He was also past president , vice president and negotiator for the American Federation of Teachers Local 395.
Lawrence is survived by his wife , Carmyn ; two sons , Paul and his wife , Amy , of Superior and John and his wife , Lisa , of Hermantown ; four grandchildren , Zachary , Casey , Riley and Kyle Geissler ; one sister , Marian Kalinowski of Alamo , Texas ; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers , Gerald and Lee.
Jeanne L. Maas Thompson , 76 , of Duluth , died Tuesday , Nov. 16 , 1999 , in Chris Jensen Nursing Home
