Sheneman said he believed there were other disorders Orndorff suffered from, and that dissociative identity disorder was not one of them.
"She does not meet the [technical] criteria for D.I.D.," he said."In my opinion, she does not.Her symptoms can be explained by other disorders. You have to be sure not to overdiagnose and have to be specifically careful about diagnosis in [patients with] forensic cases."
Sheneman said he had diagnosed Orndorff with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and histrionic personality, which he said makes people act in a "theatrical style," or to "overreact, and yell things out."

Moffitt also questioned Sheneman about Orndorff's behavior while at the hospital, asking him if it was uncommon for patients to take advantage of the medical library and study their illness, as the prosecution had suggested Orndorff did.

"No, it is not uncommon for a [well educated] patient to read up on their illness," Sheneman said.
