Dr Shen is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology.He received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China, and holds a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Ill.Dr Shen completed his pathology residency training at the University of California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, where he was chief resident physician, a surgical pathology fellow, and a dermatopathology fellow.He was the winner of two NIH National Service Awards in tumor pathology and the College of American Pathologists Foundation's Informatics Awards for three consecutive years.Previously, Dr Shen practiced as a general pathologist in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Anaheim, Calif.

Honggang Shen obtained his MD degree from Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University in 1988 and his PhD degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Chicago Medical School in 1995.He did his pathology residency training at UCLA Medical Center, where he was chief resident physician, surgical pathology fellow and dermatopathology fellow.He was the winner of two NIH National Service Awards in Tumor Pathology and the College of American Pathologists Foundation's Informatics Awards for three consecutive years.After practicing as a general pathologist in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group for two years, he joined Dianon/LabCorp as a dermatopathologist in 2005.
