Gloryland Promoting President Patrick Shellman will be celebrating his business's one-year anniversary with an explosive gospel concert in Abilene.
"We wanted to come back and celebrate our success where it all started - here in Abilene," Shellman said.
The concert will be held June 23, and Shellman is seeking individuals and groups to participate. So far, four groups have signed up.
Shellman said he founded Gloryland Promoting when he noticed a need for gospel music in the Big Country.
"I wanted to bring gospel music back," he said."When you take gospel music and you add the rhythm of guitars and drums, you have somebody preaching but it is a different type of sermon."
Since then, Shellman has traveled throughout Texas promoting his gospel concerts.
He first came up with the notion for a gospel concert while in Abilene.Shellman said he looked for different churches that were interested in letting him host the event.
"I got a call back from Holiday Hills Baptist Church telling me I could have it there," he said.

After the Abilene concert, Shellman will continue to spread his message of God through gospel music all over Texas and the U.S.
"We are going to have a good time," he said.
