Ken Shelby named group publisher of two Gannett newspapers in Ohio
McLEAN, VA - Ken Shelby has been named group publisher of the Zanesville Times Recorder and the Coshocton Tribune, both in Ohio.
"Ken is an accomplished manager, who worked his way up to this job through the pressroom and production, giving him a terrific perspective," said Sue Clark-Johnson, president of Gannett's Newspaper Division.

Shelby joined Gannett in 1995 at the Newspaper Network of Central Ohio (NNCO) as the manager of the Newark, OH, press facility.He became vice president of production for the NNCO and was responsible for printing plants in Newark, Mansfield, Chillicothe and Fremont.
Under his leadership, the NNCO became the first newspaper group in the country to fully adopt pagination and computer-to-plate technologies.
He began his career in the pressroom of the Dallas (TX) Times Herald, where he eventually became assistant production director.He also worked at Harte Hanks in Boston.
Shelby has served on the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) Color Reproduction Task Force and is a member of the Technology Committee.He won Gannett's President Ring for Excellence in Production for his work in 2005.
