Deanne S. Sheets, Senior Consultant Deanne Sheets is a senior consultant whose focus is on group training and individual coaching to help clients experience a successful transition in their careers.Pointing the way to the future and encouraging clients to remain positive are Deanne's priorities.

Fourteen years of legal and human resources experience allow Ms. Sheets to convey her expertise in the career transition process.Ms. Sheets' extensive background in human resources lends credence to her ability to coach clients as to what employers are looking for.While serving as the employee relations specialist and later as a consultant to the sales division of an 1,800 employee insurance company, she was heavily involved in recruiting, as well as coaching managers on hiring, interviewing, performance practices and conflict resolution.During that time she authored the training book for 450 managers and conducted the training on harassment, diversity, violence in the workplace and performance coaching.In addition, helping employees on a daily basis with a variety of concerns was extremely rewarding to Deanne.

Prior to the insurance industry, Deanne enjoyed working in a unionized manufacturing environment where she was a one-person HR department overseeing not only the recruiting and performance management process but also safety/OSHA, workers' compensation, unemployment, and benefits and compensation programs.

Ms. Sheets' legal career began in Iowa, working for the Court of Appeals where she drafted approximately 150 appellate court opinions, and the Iowa Legislative Service Bureau where she drafted employment legislation and served as counsel to the House and Senate labor Committees.After that, she practiced law at an insurance defense firm in San Diego, California handling complex construction defect, product liability and personal injury cases.Following Deanne's return to Kansas City, she worked for the Resolution Trust Corporation as a contract attorney.

Deanne has the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) national certification and is a member of the Human Resources Management Association and the National Society of Human Resource Management.She is a member of the Missouri, Iowa and California Bars.In addition to her professional affiliations, Deanne is a volunteer for the Kansas City Hospice and is actively involved in several school and church activities.She is married with two children.
