Chirag Shah Appointed to East West Players Board of Directors

Chirag Shah, APABA Board Member and Co-chair of our Pro Bono Services / Community Education Committee, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of East West Players- a Los Angeles based theater company referred to by the New York Times as "the nation's pre-eminent Asian American theater troupe" (New York Times 12/16/01) for its award-winning productions blending Eastern and Western movement, costumes, language, and music.
Chirag also serves as pro bono labor and employment counsel to East West Players.
Chirag is an associate with the labor law firm of Schwartz, Steinsapir, Dohrmann & Sommers LLP-- a top-notch labor boutique with a healthy practice representing executives in severance and workout matters; Chirag's practice is focused on ERISA and employee benefits.
Chirag is also active in the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
He serves on the Employee Benefits Committee (Co-chair, Diversity Subcommittee) of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association.
He also is a member of the Board of Governors of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles County where he serves as Co-chair of the Pro Bono Services/Community Education Committee and Representative to the Multi-Cultural Bar Alliance.
In the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California (SABA), Chirag is the Representative to the Multi-Cultural Bar Alliance and Co-chair of the Public Policy Committee; for the 2002-2003 term he was Chair of SABA's Membership Committee and Scholarship Committee, in addition to serving as their Representative to the Multi-Cultural Bar Alliance.
