Sgt Lucy Sewell

Sgt Sewell has been a police officer since March 1993, starting at Nuneaton as a response officer.Since 1998 Sgt Sewell has worked at Stratford Police Station, firstly as a response officer, then an 18 month period as a force trainer, 6 months as a Community Police Officer at Shipston on Stour.On promotion to Sergeant in 2004 was the Southern Areas Resource Sergeant.In March 2006 Sgt Sewell joined the Stratford Town Area Safer Neighbourhood Team.Sgt Sewell said "My role as Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant is the best job to date in my career, I have a great team, work with good partners in the Town area, who all have the same goal "working together to protect our community".In Sgt Sewell's spare time she is a Captain in the Territorial Army, enjoys walking, cycling, skiing and holidays.

Safer Neighbourhoods Sergeant Lucy Sewell who co-ordinated the operation said a total of 18 people were searched during the evening, with one person, an 18 year old male from Stratford being found in possession of a quantity of cannabis. He received a formal street caution.

Town Sergeant, Lucy Sewell says, "We want to make people aware that purse thefts have taken place not only in shops, but outside on the street as well, and we hope that these bells will encourage shoppers to be more vigilant.
