Richard J. Serluco - CPA, Partner Emeritus Richard is located in our Red Bank, NJ, office and has over 40 years of professional accounting experience. He is a certified public accountant in the states of New Jersey and New York and specializes in providing accounting, auditing, tax, financial and reimbursement consulting services to health care and not-for-profit organizations. Richard has provided clients with various accounting services including audits of financial statements, budget preparation, financial planning, business valuations and financial feasibility studies.

A graduate of The City University of New York, Richard earned his BBA degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) Health Care Committee and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Prior to joining WS+B, Richard was founder and partner of Serluco & Co., L.L.C. (merged with WS+B in 2009).

Richard is very active in his community, serving on the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian Homes and Services, Inc. and is a member of the Audit Committee of Georgian Court University. In addition, he is a past trustee of Bayshore Community Hospital and Children's Psychiatric Center. Richard has also published several articles and presented numerous seminars on health care topics.

Serluco has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park, School of Business Administration, and is a licensed CPA in New Jersey and New York.He also is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Serluco, CPA, the founder of and a Principal in our firm, is the Director of Professional Services.Mr. Serluco has over forty (40) years of accounting, auditing, tax and consulting experience.He has provided services ranging from audits of financial statements, budget preparation, financial planning, third-party reimbursement issues and appeals, financial feasibility studies, etc.He has overall responsibility for the management of professional services to all clients of the firm.He was formerly a partner with Deliotte & Touche, a "Big Four" accounting firm.He had overall responsibility for the firm's health care practice in New Jersey and served as a general services partner for many of the firm's health care clients in New Jersey and New York.

Mr. Serluco has served as a member of the AICPA Health Care Committee and Chairman and current Member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs' Auditing and Accounting Standards Committee and the Health Care Committee.Through these roles, he maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of accounting and auditing pronouncements affecting clients and, therefore, is in a position to provide timely and responsive interpretations to clients.

Richard Serluco was a partner with CPA firm Deloitte & Touche (now Deloitte) prior to founding Serluco & Co. He has over 40 years of experience providing services including auditing, budget preparation, financial planning, business valuations and financial feasibility studies. Richard has served as a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Health Care Committee and Chairman and current Member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA) Auditing and Accounting Standards Committee and the Health Care Committee.
