American Lung Association of California
Dr. Paul A. Selecky has a long history of working towards lung health with the American Lung Association.He began with the California Thoracic Society in 1976, sat on various committees, served on the board of directors, sitting as President from 1982-83, and has continued to serve to this day.Dr. Selecky worked with the American Thoracic Society from 1980-91 including serving as representativeto AARC Board of Medical Advisors.He served with the American Lung Association of California as a board member from 1981-83.He joined the American Lung Association of Orange County in 1982, was President from 1989-91, and to this day continues to sit on the board, is active in several committees and serves as Liaison to the CTS. During this entire time, he has also been active with several other professional organizations.Awards include the Pottenger Award and the California Medal through the ALAC and the Volunteer Leadership Award through the ALA.He has also co-written, along with the CTS, several publications that were integrated in the ALA publication library.Dr. Selecky is currently the Medical Director, Pulmonary Department and Medical Director, Sleep Disorders Center for Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, California.His entire career has been spent in the treatment of lung disease and the education of the public about lung health.He continues to give lectures about lung issues, offer expertise as a committee member to pediatric asthma programs and in general lives our mission to conquer lung disease and promote lung health.
