   In August 1997, Dave was invited to make a trip to the United Kingdom to help Hallmark's business in that country communicate a new strategy to employees and customers.This initial assignment turned into a nine-year partnership with Hallmark's International division, working with businesses in the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, France and China.
   
   Before going to Hallmark, Dave was a member of the communications team at Sprint; held several positions in public relations and publications work on the staff of the National Collegiate Athletic Association; and directed public relations for the athletic department at the University of Detroit (MI) while current EPSN commentator Dick Vitale was the head men's basketball coach.

   Dave has been active in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) since 1977 and was elected to serve as worldwide chairman of the 14,000-member organization in1999-2000.He is a former president of the Kansas City chapter and director of U.S. District 5 and is a Life Member of those entities.Among his multiple awards is Kansas City/IABC's highest honor: The Arthur E. Lowell Award for Excellence in Organizational Communication.
   
   Dave holds a BA from the University of Detroit and professional accreditation (Accredited Business Communicator) from IABC.He and his wife, Lavonne, now live in New England so they can spend time with their daughter and grandchildren.They enjoy tasting wines, watching college basketball and exploring Scotland and France.

   Dave Seifert, former chair of IABC, is strategic communication development manager at Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City.He assists Hallmark entities in several countries, including the United Kingdom, with their communications and relationship building."I take time to nurture long-standing relationships with IABC members who work in those countries.At least once a year, I have lunch with an old friend who now heads up the UK office of a consulting firm," he says.
