Elliott Seif, PhD. is currently the Director of Curriculum and Instruction Services for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit.He received his master's degree and Certificate of Advanced Study from Harvard University, and his doctorate from Washington University, St. Louis in Curriculum Research and Development.He was formerly a social studies teacher and a Professor of Education at Temple University.He has conducted hundreds of local and national workshops, and published numerous articles, handbooks and books on such topics as standards based programs, curriculum development and renewal, school leadership, futures education, the teaching of thinking, interdisciplinary teaching and learning and social studies instruction.Dr. Seif is the Director of the Bucks County Renewal Project, which has received national attention.The Bucks County Intermediate Unit's "Case Study" on Curriculum Renewal and Standards Based Education, authored by Dr. Seif, was recently published in the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Curriculum Handbook.Dr. Seif is also part of a cadre of developers and trainers for the nationally developed program "Understanding By Design."For the last twenty years, Dr. Seif has been the Director of the Pennsylvania Future Problem Solving Program, part of a national program that involves over 200,000 students every year in learning about futures issues and creative problem solving strategies.
