MINNEAPOLIS, Jul 25, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Bemis Company, Inc. (NYSE:BMS) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected James J. Seifert as Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary.Seifert joined Bemis earlier this month from Tennant Company where he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.Seifert is replacing Scott W. Johnson, who will retain his responsibilities at Bemis as Senior Vice President and Secretary until his planned retirement in 2003.

Seifert began his career with the Justice Department in 1982.He moved to industry in 1985, where he gained business and corporate legal experience before joining Tennant in 1999.Seifert received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, his Juris Doctorate degree from Creighton University, and his Master of Science degree in manufacturing systems from the University of St. Thomas.He is also a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney.
