nevine Al Seidi, Cairo, Egyptnevinahoo@yahoo.co.ukN/AAl Seidi, Nevine (1961-), was born ( in Alexandria, Egypt) to Egyptian parents of French and Turkish blood.She went to the Scotsh School for Girls in Alexandria, before joining the English Department at the University of Alexandria.Al Seidi obtained her BA in English Literature in 1983 (Honours), her Diploma in Technical Translation in 1986, her Diploma in Fashion Merchandising (US) in 1986 and her Diploma of Fashion Designing ( UK)in 1988.She is a political writer, a published poet and an art critic.Her most famous poem "Le Roi de Mesopotamia" earned her the title: "The Controversial Egyptian Poet".Part VII went among other international poems to the White House and is included in the index of All About Poetry.Her dramatic monologue :The Prophecy of Isis, that is included in her poetry book "Shreds and Threads" ( to be published in the US for 2004),is a treatise in ruling the state, written for her son, Omar.She was the Editor-in-Chief for Cleo, a Fashion monthly magazine and Aujourd'hui L'Egypte, a Political Cultural bi-monthly.She taught creative writing classes in essay and is a Visiting Poet at the University of Alexandria.Published in The US, UK, Canada, Australia, India and Egypt, Al Seidi is an authoritative voice on the Middle East Crisis, Arabism, and Womanism ( a term she defines as the neo-feminism or superiority of women!)
