John Seiders, Pastor Executive Duties

Rev. John Seiders grew up in Westfield, NJ.He pursued a major in Criminal Justice at Union College and later continued his studies in Sociology at Rutgers College, graduating in 1980.Following completion of a Masters of Divinity program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, John accepted a call to serve as the Youth Pastor at the Presbyterian Church in New Providence, N.J. After five years in New Providence, John served as Area Director with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) in Eastern New York State, overseeing ministry on 15 college campuses.He then moved to Madison, Wisconsin to serve IVCF as Assistant Director of Training and Education.

While working with IVCF, John was active in the life of the Brunswick Presbyterian Church (Troy, N.Y.) and Westminster Presbyterian Church (Madison, Wis.), serving as a Parish Associate as well as taking an active part in presbytery programs.In 1999 John accepted a call to First Presbyterian in Bethlehem, where he and his wife Ruthie served as Co-Directors of Youth Ministries.On September 1, 2004, John assumed the position of Pastor for Executive Duties.John and Ruthie have two daughters, Rebekah and Anna.

In his free time John enjoys woodworking, sports, jogging, reading, and being involved in the lives of his daughters.

When her husband John accepted a call to serve with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) in upstate New York, Ruthie accepted a call to serve as Christian Educator at Brunswick Presbyterian Church in Troy, N.Y. After John's transfer to the national office of IVCF, Ruthie was called as Director of Christian Education and Nurture for Westminster Presbyterian Church in Madison, Wis.

John Seiders - John currently serves as the Pastor for Executive Duties at the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, PA.He was born and raised in NJ.He graduated from Rutgers College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.Upon graduation from seminary, John served for five years as a Youth Pastor in New Providence, NJ. Over the next ten years, John ministered with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, first as Area Director in Eastern New York State and then in Madison, WI as Assistant Director of Training and Education.While working with IVCF, John was active in the life of the Brunswick Presbyterian Church (Troy, N.Y.) and Westminster Presbyterian Church (Madison, WI.), taking an active part in the life and ministry of the church.In 1999 John accepted a call to the First Presbyterian in Bethlehem, where he and his wife Ruthie served as Co-Directors of Youth Ministries.Since September 1, 2004, John assumed the position of Pastor for Executive Duties.John and Ruthie have have been married for 22 years and have two daughters.Rebekah is currently sophomore at the University of Maryland and Anna plans to attend Purdue University in the fall.In his free time John enjoys woodworking, sports, jogging, reading, and being involved in the lives of his daughters.

John Seiders is our Executive Associate Pastor.Originally from New Jersey, he has served in various capacities in churches in New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, and most recently, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.In addition, he has served in various leadership roles ministering to college students and staff members of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA.He graduated from Rutgers University and from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
