    Later Kathy Seidel of UCF called and asked if I'd like some help editing the book.All this may give young writers/editors the wrong impression because publishers usually don't call you more or less out of the blue, nor does help of the caliber of Kathy Seidel appear like the cavalry in a western movie.

    Kathryn Seidel, dean of the college, said most of the deficit can be blamed on hiring too many new professors before knowing what state funding would be.Legislators failed to account for growth, she said.

    Creating a new college also will give UCF another dean who can raise money for the university.And overseeing a smaller college should allow Seidel to pay more attention to the departments she oversees.
