Dr. Segers is General Manager, Europe, Africa, and Middle East and oversees the operations in the European Navigant Biotechnologies headquarters in preparation for the eventual commercialization of the pathogen reduction technology.
Dr. Segers has over ten years experience in the life science industry (in-vitro diagnostics, medical devices, and therapeutics).He managed the scientific and technical affairs for Nextran, a joint venture between Baxter International and DNX, where he helped to build an organ transplant business for Europe.Later he set up the commercial activities for SangStat Medical Corporation in Europe.Before joining Navigant Biotechnologies, he worked for Baxter, where he led the European development and launch of a new generation peritoneal dialysis solution.For this he received an "Outstanding Corporate Achievement" award from the CEO.
Dr. Segers has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and holds a U.S. and European patent on a medicinal product.
