   BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Equestrian student-athlete Natalie Burton and diver Steven Segerlin have been nominated by Auburn University for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship.

   Segerlin, a senior from Webster, N.Y., has earned a 3.21 grade point average, with a major in Building Science. He has been a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a two-time Auburn University Academic Top Tiger and an Academic All-America selection.
   
   He is a member of the National Merit Honors Society, the ODK/Mortar Board Honors Society and the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society. He was a representative to the 2006 NCAA Leadership Conference and was a recipient of the 2006 William H. Hunt Building Science Scholarship.
   
   He was the SEC champion in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform at the 2007 SEC Championships where he set a SEC record on the 3-meter and platform. He is a member of the 2007 USA National Team and was the 2006 NCAA Champion in the platform. He was also named the 2007 NCAA Diver of the Year after winning the 3-meter and platform competitions and placing third on the 1-meter board at the 2007 NCAA Championships.
   
   Segerlin is the 2006-07 president of Auburn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee where he has created and implemented new programs for student-athletes in the All-Auburn, All-Athletes Program.
   
   The SEC Office will be releasing each of its institution's nominees periodically until the April 6 winners are announced.
