On August 16, Rick Seeger, an alumnus of GSA from the Class of 1988, spoke about his recent work in evolutionary robotics in a talk entitled "Evolutionary Robotics: The New Look of Artificial Intelligence., Seeger has spent the past year pursuing his masters in Evolutionary Robotics from the University of Sussex, England.Prior to that, he co-founded Net Theory, a company based in New York specializing in software design and development, strategic planning, consulting and project management.Seeger holds Bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from Carnegie Mellon University.On August 23, Arnold Berleant, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Long Island University, shared his recent scholarship in a talk entitled "What Titles Don't Tell: Music's Environmental Meaning., Berleant has authored six books,three of which deal with environmental aesthetics.He is also active as a composer and performer and an international lecturer in Finland, Chile, UK, Brazil and China.
