   CSD announced today that Mark Seeger has been named the special assistant to the C.E.O. for strategic planning.In this role, he will be responsible for strategic planning initiatives, company-wide marketing campaigns and strengthening relationships between CSD and its business partners.

   Seeger is a veteran manager, with more than 19 years of experience in both public and private sectors.He was most recently a senior marketing manager for telecommunication relay services (TRS) at Sprint in Austin, Texas.He supervised a team of 21 marketing managers dedicated to the Sprint Relay product, located in offices from coast to coast.Under his tenure, the Sprint TRS reached unprecedented ratings and growth in all key areas.Other experiences include program management and direct services with the Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, as well as professional certification as an ASL interpreter.
   
   Seeger earned his master's degree in human services administration from St. Edwards University in 1993.He also earned a bachelor's degree in math education from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984.He is well known and highly regarded in the telecommunications industry, earning numerous awards for his strategic ability to grow customer and shareholder value.In 1999, Seeger was selected as one of the 100 Sprint Heroes, recognized from more than 90,000 past and present Sprint employees for outstanding contributions made over the past 100 years.He also has received accolades from the National Association of the Deaf and the Texas Association of the Deaf for his contributions to telecommunications access.
