More than $1 million of the Foundation's $30 million assets, from donations and investment income, will be set aside for Teen Health grants for six public schools and Starting Out Healthy grants for six preschools, said Pam Scott, Mountainside Health Foundation chief foundation officer.
The schools will be announced today during the event.
Improving access to health care, mental health, programs for seniors in the community and healthy lifestyles, nutrition and obesity are among the Foundation's primary objectives.
"The Foundation has formed task forces to study the gaps in these areas, and we are looking for opportunities , to make the most meaningful longterm impact," Scott noted.

Klein also determined that the continued support of the chaplaincy program through the Foundation "was a charitable activity benefiting the individual recipients and the community at large," Scott said.

"It does serve an important need, an important service to the community," Scott said.
The court ruling also determined that donations restricted to scholarships for the Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing "can continue to be used for that purpose," Scott said.
