Dr. P.J. Scott

P.J. Scott and the Justified Jug Band from south of the border (in Mississippi) will provide the entertainment for the September Come Alive Dinner.The members of the band are primarily, but not all, Senior Adults.They play a variety of instruments, and while they have fun, they do play well.They have a regular "gig" every Thursday evening at the Olive Branch town square and have been featured in local newspapers.

P.J. who retired a few years ago after 30 years as the Pastor of Olive Branch First Baptist Church, discovered he was not ready to just sit around so he, and friends he's played music with for several years, officially formed a band.

P.J. describes the music as therapeutic for them - he laughed and said, "We do this because it's a lot cheaper than counseling!"

Our pastor, Dr. P.J. Scott, has been with us since 1975.He and Mrs. Betty have one daughter, Norma, who is married to Carlton Gerrell.They reside in Paris, Tennessee.

The Scotts have two grandsons, Trey is seven and Scott is three.They are the delight of the Pastor's life and subject in most of his sermons.

Our pastor, Dr. P.J. Scott is retiring tomorrow so the worship service will be pretty emotional.He's been in our pulpit for 30 years.I produced a video that'll be played which looks back on his service to our church.
