Mrs. Manfred Schweitzer

Mrs. Schweitzer became a U.S. citizen in 1945.She worked for several years as a nursery school teacher before beginning her career in the late 1940s as a social worker for the Jewish Family Services of Baltimore, an agency of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation.

She earned a master's degree in social work in 1958 from the University of Pennsylvania and retired in 1984.

A memorial service is planned in Baltimore in the spring.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Thomas Schweitzer of Cambridge, and two grandchildren.
