Dr. Steven Schwartz, chief of the emergency department at the Titusville's Parrish Medical Center, one of the medical representatives at Thursday's AJT event, said the theory behind the Mobilis Systems is well-founded.
Serious medical emergencies that require patient isolation or a quarantine can exhaust, and even shut down, a hospital's emergency room, he said.Mobile isolation facilities would go a long way toward solving that problem, he said.
And the price isn't bad, either, Schwartz added.
"Relative to the cost for hospitals having to engage in having all kinds of special equipment for decontamination, it really isn't a lot of money at all," he said.
