Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University, Professor Steven Schwartz, said that while innovations in science won four of the five awards on offer this year, the aim of the Awards is to recognise innovation excellence across the entire breadth of the University's activities.

"These awards celebrate research excellence, as well as excellence in teaching and learning, innovative partnerships, commercial innovation and innovation by our postgraduate students.They define what it means for Macquarie to be Australia's Innovative University," he said.
