Martin Schwartz receives national award

TRUMBULL - Martin D. Schwartz of Trumbull, president and CEO of The Kennedy Center, a community-based vocational rehabilitation organization serving more than 1,500 individuals annually, recently received international recognition from CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Schwartz, a longtime member of Congregation B'nai Israel in Bridgeport, was presented with a 25-year service award as a surveyor by CARF president and CEO Brian J. Boon, CARF President at the Annual CARF Surveyor Training in Tucson, Ariz.

"Marty Schwartz is a dedicated professional," said Bobbie Baker, a surveyor liaison with CARF, an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body based in Tucson.

For more than 30 years, Schwartz has overseen the growth of The Kennedy Center from a grassroots organization to a large, private, non-profit agency with more than 500 employees and 400 volunteers.
Accredited by CARF, The Kennedy Center is ranked in the top 1% of rehabilitation agencies nationwide.
