    TRUMBULL - Martin D. Schwartz of Trumbull, president and CEO of The Kennedy Center, a community-based vocational rehabilitation organization serving more than 1,500 individuals annually, recently received international recognition from CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

    Schwartz, a longtime member of Congregation B'nai Israel in Bridgeport, was presented with a 25-year service award as a surveyor by CARF president and CEO Brian J. Boon, CARF President at the Annual CARF Surveyor Training in Tucson, Ariz.

    "As we celebrate our 2009 calendar, it is a bright moment in a challenging time," Martin D. Schwartz, center president, said, addressing the gathering. "Let us join in the enthusiasm and joy the artists feel in the success of having their artwork displayed or published in the calendar."

    Schwartz said the calendar will raise funds for the center's Senior Options Program, which is expanding services for clients afflicted with Alzheimer's disease.
