STANLEY SCHOENBAUMBorn in Richmond, Virginia (1925), Mr. Schoenbaum has practiced law in San Antonio since 1958, specializing in federal tax matters and estate planning.He is a founding shareholder of SC&S.He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law and in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.Mr. Schoenbaum earned a B.A. from the University of Richmond (1947), an LL.B. from the University of Virginia (1949) and an LL.M. (in Taxation) from New York University School of Law (1950).From 1953 to 1958 he served as a trial attorney in the Atlanta Regional Office of the IRS Chief Counsel and as a special attorney in the Legislation and Regulations Division of the IRS National Office.He was an adjunct professor in estate, gift and income taxation at St. Mary's University School of Law for over fifteen years, and has been a frequent lecturer on taxation and estate planning.He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas (and past chairman of its Tax Section).He is admitted to the practice of law in Texas and before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.His practice includes Tax Counseling, Tax Controversies, Estate Planning and Administration, and Business and Investment Planning.His civic activities include serving as a Trustee of the Baptist Health Services Foundation and the University of Texas at San Antonio Development Board.He is named in the 2003-2004 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in both Tax and Trusts and Estates.In 2004, he was designated by Texas Monthly as a Texas Super Lawyer in Tax.He is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell.His e-mail address is sschoenbaum@scs-law.com.
