She conducts research in the area of human-animal interaction and recently co-authored an article in the journal, Anthrozoos.Marg speaks and writes articles on various aspects of the human-animal bond.Most recently she has spoken at the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, at the Ontario Veterinary College, and at the Purina Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony (2006).She also appeared on a segment of the program, Health on the Line, speaking about the therapeutic use of animals.As a member of the mental health committee of the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association Marg organized a micro-counselling skills training program for therapeutic riding instructors.She is also on the genetics concerns committee of the Irish Water Spaniel Club of America.She enjoys rally obedience, tracking, canine musical freestyle and napping on the couch with her dogs, Charlie, Tula and Presto, and goes for frequent hacks with her thoroughbred mare, Jane.
