As the firm's accounting manager, she is responsible for planning, directing and supervising the work of others and for maintaining the firm's quality control standards. In addition, she performs accounting troubleshooting, problem solving, and spreadsheet design for staff as well as for the firm's clients. Her special skills include interpreting historical financial trends and applying this knowledge to projections of future financial results. Joanne has had extensive experience in the areas of preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures, preparing individual, corporate and partnership tax returns, and in the design and administration of pension plans. She has worked with many types of small- and medium-sized businesses, including home construction contractors, land developers, lessors of real as well as personal property, government contractors, service businesses and professionals. Prior to joining Hillman & Glorioso, Joanne worked at two other local CPA firms, serving as Accounting Partner for 5 years in the most recent position. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and is a member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, the Maryland Association of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. She has been a Certified Public Accountant for 19 years and is licensed to practice in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
