  Helene currently works as the Director of Human Resources at Planned Parenthood.As a 30-something professional working woman, she will give public voice to a large part of the Santa Barbara community not usually represented on the City Council.
  
  In addition to her community service as a Commissioner on the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara, Helene has served as President of the Santa Barbara Women's Political Committee, President of the Santa Barbara Human Resources Association, and Co-Coordinator of the No on Prop 22 - Santa Barbara Coalition.She is also a founding board member of the Santa Barbara County Action Network.
  
  Thus far, Helene has the support of over 100 community leaders, as well as the endorsements of many local elected officials such as Assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson, Santa Barbara County Supervisors Naomi Schwartz, Susan Rose and Gail Marshall, Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum, Former Santa Barbara Mayor Harriet Miller, and Santa Barbara City Councilmember Iya Falcone.One of her goals on the Council is to collaborate with these and other elected and community leaders on important regional issues, such as creating workforce housing, improving commuter transit, reducing traffic congestion and protecting our coastline.
