   George Schneider is a Spokane physician deeply committed to making health care available to everyone , regardless of ability to pay.He is a past president of the Washington State Medical Association and the Spokane County Medical Society , and served on the State Health Services Commission and Health Care Policy Board.Dr. Schneider created and developed the nationally-recognized Inland Empire Northwest Blood Center.He is a well-known spokesperson and advocate for rural health care , and for public health's role in helping the medical community improve the health of all people.
   
   The Yakima-based Providence Healthy Communities Alliance , has worked to improve health throughout Central Washington.The Alliance is responsible for creating and implementing an array of community health programs like Wellness on Wheels , which provides primary care and health education to communities that would otherwise not have access.It places a special emphasis on serving those with low incomes , those who are geographically isolated , and members of Hispanic communities , Indian Nations , and other ethnic minorities.
