KIOSK magazine had the opportunity to talk with Gary about where the concept for The Meeting Place came from.He told us that some time ago a professor of his back at MIT taught him that to be successful, you need to create a product that one-half the population will use, costs only $5.00, and has little overhead. After several successful endeavors in the agricultural world, Gary finally had the time to heed the words of his professor. That's where the idea for The Meeting Place began.
"I'm a shy guy and walking up to somebody with a cheesy line is hard.I saw this as a system where you'd already have something to talk about," said Gary of The Meeting Place concept.Gary had already been a believer in alternative dating methods. In fact, he met his wife through a classified ad in the paper. Now he just had to put the technology in place to make the system work.Almost right away Gary knew that kiosks would be the delivery vehicle for his meeting service.
