In addition to the reputation of SSL and the J Series, Pressure Point also chose the console because of its extensive automation and on-board EQs."SSL consoles have the best automation on the market," describes Schneider."Having its own dedicated computer system is extraordinary, because it allows the automation to go deeper.The SL 9000 can handle an amazing number of automation commands and allows the engineer to focus on the music, not the computer."

The SL 9000 will be the centerpiece of Studio A's 5.1 control room, which will handle all tracking from both its large live room and live sound stage.In addition, Studio A will have its own production suite.

Located in a landmark building in the area referred to as "Record Row," Pressure Point's facility is only half a block from where the original Chess Records, Vee Jay and Brunswick record labels used to be.According to Schneider, these labels had their own in-house studios and in the 50s, 60s and early 70s, artists like The Beatles, Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley all recorded and mixed here.
