    The instructor, Jeanette L. Schnars, has a B.S. in Biology, minor in Marine Science from Penn State University, a M.A. in Biology from the University of New York, College at Buffalo, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Wildlife Fisheries Science at Penn State University.She has been traveling to Costa Rica since 1996, and lived there for 2 months researching leatherback sea turtles for her master's thesis; this will be her 7th trip to the country.She has taught this course at Penn State Behrend since 2002, traveling with over 65 students.Her research interests focus on orientation cues in sea turtle hatchlings, and the affects of bio-contaminants on common snapping turtles.
